1st Grade is creating an accordion folded project of their name.
It is a big hit!
We talk about positive and negative space.
The paper is white 90lbs and cut in 6x6 inch squares.
Then they may fill up the background how ever they like with crayons.
Remember not to color in the negative space---the letter. If they have a short name 3 letters or less they my use their last initial as well.
When you are finished tape the back of the letters closely together but not overlapping and then fold it into an accordion book. They may write on the back sides of their Name Books to create a story.
