Scrappy Creatures...

One of my very favorite adult art lessons to teach is
Scrappy Creatures.
What is so surprising is that so much cuteness comes out of
a wire hanger and plastic shopping bags.
After learning this lesson I realized it would be an amazing
way to upcycle or recycle all those useless plastic bags that just get
used one time and then wind up in the oceans harming the sea life.

Plus I just love clearance sale stuff! I just keep buying it and
telling hubby "it's for my Scrappy Creatures". It really makes
my hordes of material and pompoms sound legitimate!

This is Poosette, he found his forever home this summer.

 And this is Zooset.

This is parent night at my school. We had a blast creating new creatures.

This is Farris who was a gift to the worlds best book binding teacher.

This is my amazing class from the Center for the Arts in Manassas, Virginia at Windy Knoll Farms.
So so so cute!

This is Geffory, he went to his forever home last year.

This is Ms. Pauletta Peadmont, she also found her forever home last year.

Welcome to the world Delila!

Felting and Zentangle Demos at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Center in Virginia...

We had so much fun at the 1st annual artist expo held at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Center in Virginia. Artist from around the area came together to sell their art, hand out information and give demos and workshops. Above is my felting demo...

we felted Lady bugs...

On the right is one of my former students, Chloe. She is so talented and just the sweetest girl.
Chloe is one of my Advanced Zentangle students. She gave the Zentangle demos at this even.

Here is Candice who is the education director at the Center for the Arts in Manassas, Virginia, also called the Candy Factory because the Center is in an old candy factory...how cool is that. The center is in historic downtown Manassas.

1st Friday in Old Town Manassas, Virginia Parent's Night Out...

Old Town Manassas, Virginia

On the 1st Friday night of each month the city of Manassas, Virginia has a giant block party. It is just fabulous. There are people everywhere and singers and entertainment and it is just so much fun.

The Candy Factory (Center for the Arts in Manassas) has a Parent's night out. For 2 hours you can drop your kids off and go out on the town. The kids create and art project for an hour and do theater arts for the next hours. It's a lot of fun.
The calm before the storm...

The kids created my gear project. This is one of my favorite projects that I created. It is fun and the kids like that there are moving parts.

Click HERE for the lesson plan for the Gear project.

The kids worked in teams of 2 to create a simple machine.

After class hubby (Shoulders) came to pick me up and we had date night.
