Project Runway All Stars Season 7....2019

I am a huge fan of Project Runway. I would love to be able to sew that fast. I am in a Facebook group where we try and draw out our fashions as soon as we get the challenge. It is so much fun! I can draw the outfits that are in my head but I could never ever finish one in only a day. These contestants are amazing.

Challenge 1... an outfit that represents where we are from. My family is from Georgia, USA and have been for as long as anyone can remember. So for my challenge I drew a garden party dress with a crisp white shirt top and a flowy light long skirt.

Challenge 2... an outfit for a graduation party based on school colors. I picked my high school colors...I think they were red and white. It was a long time ago and I dropped out of school at the beginning of the 10th grade....so.....anyway I picked red and white.

Challenge 3....this outfit is based on Southwests Airlines commitment to recycling their materials.

I used the red drink stirs as red crystals around the dress and handbag.

Project Runway Season 16...

I am a huge Project Runway Fan...

I got to go to NYC last year and all I wanted to do was go to Mood and by fabric. While I was there I got to meet Swatch. He was right there at the front door waiting for me. He loved me!!!

I can sew but I hardly ever do. I am in a Facebook group were we try to draw our the challenges along with the contestants each week. I would love to be on the show one day but it takes me about a month and a half to sew one outfit! Here are my sketchers for my outfits from Season 16.

The challenge was 3 looks in the same collections

Runway ready 1st challenge Season 16

The twin 1 hour challenge. In season 16 there were twins competing against each other but they were also helping each other. So Heidi have them a one hour challenge to see which one was actually doing all the work. I did not even finish sketching this dress our before one twin had a breakdown and   told the other twin to stay on the show. It was kind of hard to watch.

The Dixie cup challenge. The winner got to have there design on a Dixie cup.

From the Shopkin Doll challenge. I had a boy...who is now a grown man so I did not even know these dolls existed! The challenge was to design a dress for the doll. The winner actually get to have their design make into a dress for the Shopkin dolls.

The unconventional challenge. If you do not watch the show there is one challenge where the contestants have to use things other than material to make and outfit. 

The orange mesh is construction site plastic fencing, the center is a fire hose and bottom is heavy plastic sheeting. 

This is the Breast Cancer Warrior challenge.

My mother died of breast cancer that spread all over her body. I was only 13 when she passed away. She was very sick for 5 years prior to her death. From what I remember of her she was an amazing person. I would have loved the opportunity to know her, she was a fantastic artist, she was a modern dancer and taught dance, she worked with clay, sewed and painted. She helped a friend write a book title "To Dance is Human". What I remember most was how she would always ask me what words meant. I usually had no idea but she would say "it's okay, what to you think it means". Then I would give it my best shot and she would always say "very good" even when I was wrong. Then she would go on to tell me the correct meaning. I miss having a mother to grow up with.

Project Runway Season 15 Fashion Week Collection...

So for my final Project Runway collection I went post-apocalyptic casual. In the future we will have to dress in layers, so my collection comes in parts that can be taken off when it is hot or cover you up when it's cold.

Project Runway Season 15 Challenge #13....Austin

On this challenge everyone went down to Austin, Texas and had another unconventional challenge. The designers had to pick their materials from a feed store. I picked the feed bags and trued to sculpture shape them to look like cowboy hats. When they returned to NYC they went to Mood and had to do a conventional look that was cohesive with the first look. I selected a flowy fabric with words hand painted on it.  The dress is one shoulder and layered.

Project Runway #15 Challenge #9 and #11...

Challenge #9 was to create something for someone close to you. My mother died when I was little but if she was here today I think this is something she would wear. She would at last like that I made it for her and she would be really proud of me!

Challenge #11 was the Lexus challenge and the designers were asked to use unconventional materials. I have a black topless dress with wire down both sides and a oversized wire cover over the top with red, yellow and orange ribbons weaved into the shoulders and across the back.

Project Runway #15 Challenge #7...

Challenge 7 Season 15 the urban jungle in street wear

(at least my model put on some weight this week)!

Inspired from their trip to Universal Orlando Resorts and the brand new multi-dimensional attraction Skull Island: Reign of Kong. The designers have to transform their experience  to an urban jungle style. 

Project Runway Season 15 Challenge 5...

My model seems to be loosing weight! The challenge this week is to create a cocktail dress inspired by the night club the contestants were in. The drinks were in copper pineapples so I created a copper colored dress with copper sheer mesh and copper colored leather banding that mimicked the pineapple.

 I have created a 2 piece suit with stand-out applique flowers and a high waist. 

The cover is sheer and ties down the side.

Black lights and fashion...

My dress would look like a nude colored dress with white ribbons in the light and in the black light you would only see the blue strips.

Project Runway Season 15 Challenge 2...

Okay I seriously need to take a figure drawing class...

Tonight challenge was to create a look that would look good on all body types. Not sure the judges remembered that when they were making their final selections. Because even thought I loved all 3 of the top looks I do not feel any of them would look good on the "all body types". I think to judges forgot what real woman look like! 

Anyway...I would totally go on Project Runway if I never had to sew a zipper in. But if you can just pull it over your head...I am good to go.

My outfit for challenge 2 was simple solid top with sheer bands on the lower part and for the arms. Then with a basic crop pants or leggings. I can so see Heidi wearing this.

Project Runway Season 15 Episode 1...

I am a huge Project Runway fan, who isn't right? I mean I love me some Tim Gunn "make it work"!

So I am sketching out my designs right as they announce the challenge and before I see the contestants work. I am not the strongest human figure drawer and drawing it really fast is even tougher but I am going to do it this year! 

For Episode 1 the contestants had to create a party feeling dress out of the stuff found in their welcome party room. It was an unconventional challenge. I picked the red, shiny cards on the table for a layered skirt. The geometric print pillows for the vest part of a jacket and the Project Runway canvas bags for the sleeves of the jacket.

I love Brik because he is southern and he was rocking the man-bun. Dexter had a great design. Erin's design was great but it looks a lot like her promotion photo outfit. Ian had to go.  Jenni's laugh is awesome! I have a feeling Nathalia and Sarah would make me nuts in real life. Tasha is cool and Mah-Jing's magazine dress was my favorite. And sorry about this Kimber but your dress was odd but not as odd as Ian's, thank goodness!
