Art Supply Bug Pins...

For our regional offering we made art supply pins. We collected as many small colored pencils, charcoal pencils and other small art supplies we could find to create our pins.

Everyone brought scrapbooking style supplies to share.

We use all the supplies to make Art Supply Bug Pins.

This is the Northern Virginia Art Educators crew creation out Art Bug Pins that we handed out at our state conference to represent our region. They would also make great parent gifts or awesome fundraiser items.

We all had an awesome time working and goofing around together.

One completed and in the box...only 99 to go!

We are getting there...

They were a big hit at conference and so much fun to make!

Up-cycled Metal Owls....

You know all those random parts your grandparents have been saving your entire life?   

Sculpture Art Club turned them into owls.

It was just coincidence Katherine wore this shirt on art show day!

Using donated smoothie straws to make mobiles

1st Grade Scrap Monsters...

First Grade made these scrap monsters out of the left over painted paper from their turkey feather projects. So cute! Click HERE for the Turkey Feather project.

Donated Art Materials Are Awesome....

I was given some extra large smoothie straws, I had no idea what to do with 

a giant bag of really large straws. 

I thought they would make really cool hanging fish. 

So I went ahead with my plan and really worked out this cool system to turn the straws 

into the fish.

We started stringing the straws together and adding beads in between each straw.

The hanging fish did not look anything at all like the drawings....but they still looked great!

Maybe I have the next Alexander Calder in my class

2nd Spiders and Trash Monsters...

2nd Grade created Spiders out of construction paper and colorful webs for Halloween.

5th grade found the scraps from the cut out spiders in the recycle bin and thought they looked like monsters so they created scrap creatures...

5th grade glued the scraps in their journals and added painted scraps as

the eyes and other parts.

It was a proud day as an art teacher! 

4th Grade Picasso Face from Scraps...

Using scraps left over from our BIRD PROJECT we created Picasso Faces on old music sheets the music teacher gave us. Fun and so cute!

This clever kids used 3Do's to make his eyes pop up!
