2nd Grade Name in Complimentary Colors Project...

Count the letters in your name then subtract one number. That is the total amount of lines you will need to draw with your ruler vertically on the page. By drawing one less line than letters in your name you are actually creating the correct amount of columns for all the letters of your name.

If you have 12 inch rulers like we do, draw one side of the paper and then turn the paper around and finish drawing the other side using the ruler.

Next you will need 3 horizontal lines. One in the middle of the page.

One 1/2 way above the middle line and the top.

And one 1/2 way between the middle line and the bottom of the page.

Now start filling in your name with block letters.

Repeat your name all the way down the page

Our focus was on complementary colors or colors across from each other on the color wheel.
