Monster Book Project 2015
The Monster Book Project is a collaborative effort between students at Cedar Point Elementary and Patriot High School.

Kindergarten students at Cedar Point created monster artwork and students in Amy Morrill’s creative writing class at Patriot High School created a background story for each monster.

Students in Suzanne Brazier’s 5th grade language SIGNET class used information from each monster’s background story to identify key character and appearance traits. The 5th grade language SIGNET students chose a setting for eight themed stories. Each story incorporates 4-5 monsters and centers on a theme related to character traits or being part of a community.

The last step was to have 18 very talented art students in grades 1st - 5th from Cedar Point  illustrate each book. The illustration manage was an awesome graduating 5th grade student names Lindsay.

  1. Hi - I saw your comment on Helen Williams' blog and popped over to see the kid art. Then I came here to see the monster art. Both are fabulous! I occasionally volunteer with our school art teacher and know how fun (and sometimes challenging) it can be. These are really great.

    1. Deni...I am so glad you like them. We actually turned them into a set of 8 books. It has been a lot of fun.
