1st Grade-Bug On a Rug- Symmetrical Balance...

1. Put one line down the center with a black crayon.

2. What you do to one side you must do to the other.

3. Color...watercolor paint your rug. Remember what you color on one side you should color on the other side.

4. Punch 7 holes on each side for the paper. I fold the paper over then punch through each side at the same time. One in the middle and 3 on each side.

Next you will need a bug for your rug.
We talked about real bugs and how they are symmetrically balanced.

Then we created our own bugs keeping symmetry in mind. We also use repeating patters to create the bugs.

Since the rug is so colorful keep the bug black and white.
